GR Yaris Residuals

Residuals will only matter to my wife after I shuffle off this mortal coil. This thing is so special they'll have to pry it from my cold dead hand!

I've always been restless with cars and was always looking for the next one, even if I was happy with the one I had. My wife commented to me the other day that I don't seem to be looking at car reviews like I used to. I hadn't even realised. It must be love!
This is me !

Always going round and round on YouTube checking on the next car followed by the next car .

I’ve always been into 911’s and still own one but thinking the sale of my current 911 ( 4S cab v low mileage) would find the purchase of a GRY.

I’ve owned many Porsche GT cars but I feel I’ve done my time with them and the GRY will offer me as much fun but primarily on the road

The true fact is that this little gem is for this day and age a vehicle that is absolutely perfect. It has the right amount of go and plenty of stop. In between it provides joy at legal and semi legal speeds while having both handling and road holding that allows both road delight and track fun in shovel loads. At the same time it leaves enough in the bank to enable the spare to be spent on other things of life like wine women / blokes ( or whatever ) and song if you can sing.
So my advice is sell the other imitations and get your hands of the steering wheel of a GR Y before they vanish in EU or wherever bureaucratic oblivion. I junked an M3 comp and enjoy every trip however long ( 19707 km round the Island) or short 2 km to the local supermarket!
Happy Christmas and New Year !

If your car is modded and worth 30k but standard its 33k,is it THAT much of a big deal 🤷‍♂️

I pumped 70K+ into my Evo over 15+ years.....and sold it for 32k....but loved every minute of it.

MY GR is lightly modded (i called it improved)but can be put back to standard in a day or 2, bar the oem wheels that i sold.

People talking about modified cars,How many people on here have actaully got a proper modded car?....im talking suspension, brakes, cage, big turbo, ecu etc etc...not that many.

yep updating IC and Cat actually eases the stress of an engine (less thermal load) so it is not that terrible horrible thing to do.
I'd buy a well maintained and lightly modded car instead of poorly maintained stock car. It all comes on what you're after, if you want 100% stock car then you must likely buy a 100% stock car. It is often true that stock cars are easier to sell, so good approach is to remove all the upgrades and sell in stock form.

I’ve purchased the GR Yaris not as an investment but a car to enjoy and improve to my requirements, I don’t care what people think it’s worth or even if they like the modification’s I have chosen and vice-versa others can keep standard or modify if they wish to do so, it’s a personal choice. Price is a number determined by how desperate you are or need to sell not necessarily what you have done or not done to the car. Remember pre-covid, Buying new meant you lost 20% as soon as you left the showroom on most models, so I always say to those that ask me to buy a car for them ENJOY it as that’s the most important factor in all of this If you want to make a profit get onto Rolex dealers and wait 10/15 years for a Daytona👍 I’m 5 years in🤣

Mine's properly modded. Drinks holder, sunglasses holder, raised mirror, and some mudflaps.

One reason for me to go GRY was that I wouldn't need massive mods for me to be happy with it. As it is the most sensible after all. I've kinda succeeded although I did a bit more then initially thought but that's part of the journey. All in all still very sensible.

Other car's I haven't opened the engine but always tried to make them objectively better driving sometimes spending up to 50% of the list price, so when I sold them didn't have the heart to put them back to stock but tried to find a good home for them even if it meant not getting the last penny out of them. Always nice to hear afterwards it's even better then they imagined or a message that a record holder drove it and said it drives very well....

Yeah I agree to be honest everything I've done, granted all minimal, is reversible.

I think most of the stuff I do will be the same. At the moment I haven't technically changed anything in a non permanent nature. If I did do an exhaust I barely consider that modding... So quick to return to stock it's not really a mod.

I don't think I'll be doing super much, reckon the extent of what I do will likely finish at stuff like the body kit extensions (which I think really make the pearl white) but hardly the most ridiculous mod in the world.

Had a Rolex Cosmograph which I bought with the 100 pounds my old man gave us for not smoking till we were 21 ! Sold it because it became too valuable to wear and I bought a Lancia Aprilia for my Old age which although the Rolex has doubled in price since I sold it has given me endless hours of joy! Just Put a new clutch in that and had engine out to do that . Stick the Rolex buy a GR Y and use it
Everyday , far more use and fun. You cannot take your money with you and your relatives will put a check in the coffin for the other side so enjoy .

Always been that way, but I do struggle to understand the heavily modified cars that are only kep a matter of months. Maybe a big change of heart / circumstances but seems like a good way to lose a load of money to me.
I assumed the people doing that were wanting to get rid of dirty money 😂
