I am sure there is an error in the data but the "check vehicle recalls" shows that there is a recall for the GR86

Same here.

Recall #0001 GR86 shipped must be returned to Derby due to European specific conditions. We will keep you "regularly" updated through the dealer network, myT and TUK. 😛
 
I think this is for the SOS button update, my handover on the 23rd was nearly delayed as the dealer realised there was a new recall but the service department did a quick software update. The online team advised me that all previously delivered cars would require this to be done.
 
There are 285 gr86 in the UK already? Or does that include other models too.

It's an interesting stat. I'd imagine it will include all registered UK cars, including press, training and demo vehicles. So probably around 180-200 customer cars?

What isn't clear is whether these are just the cars that have been registered or all cars that have landed in the UK thus far.
 
Just when you thoight Toyota couldn't bugger up the delivery any more...

It's so typical of them, isn't it. I'll be asking for Toyota to fill in and stamp my service book and enable all doors comfort access unlocking on the same day for the inconvenience.
 
My dealer called to ask how I'm enjoying my GR86, so I mentioned the recall. The sales guy, as expected, knew nothing about it, but would investigate - I then got a call back from the service advisor. He told me that I'd get a letter in the post at some point from Toyota UK, but rather than wait for that to arrive, and then book it in, I can take it in and they'll just sort it (I'm booked in for first thing on Friday). Sounds like it's a quick job and they'll just do it while I wait.

Collected my car today and they had already done the recall and they were able to connect up my Toyota app.

All good stuff
