Another vote for the ‘Ultimate Outdoor Cover’ from Classic Additions. I’ve used them on 2 different cars. Both have survived Scottish Winters, although I did bolster the protection one year with their over-net, which stops the cover ballooning in high winds.
Never. Not even after buffeting by the wind. The inner surface is quite soft and the material itself is a bit like a heavy stretch fabric. Although breathable, extreme cold snaps can still cause ‘fogging’ on the car surface, but this evaporates with air circulation. I found the covers to be invaluable during bird poop bombing season. Let it dry on the cover and scrape off with a plastic razor. Cover can be gently sponged and left to dry on the car. That all said, putting the cover on/off without it falling to the ground takes practice

There size identification is not what it seems; my KonaN was size HH (Hot Hatch) and the GR86 is a Size 'S' is for Sports, so yes, that's correct. As long as you've used their drop down list you'll be good to go. If you have a Ducktail Spoiler the back sits a bit higher than normal, but still gives enough protection. Edit: Wheel covers/bags are a good idea if you want to avoid tyre shine rubbing off onto the inside of the cover. I didn't use them to start with and my cover is black at each corner, which is annoying because it can't be machine washed..

The female clips are attached at all sides of the cover and are situated in ‘pockets’ at each corner and centre. The straps are double male.

No not yet, I'm procrastinating as I'm not sure how committed I'm going to be with it to be honest.
I'd leave it until after the inspection and clean too, although if you have to drive for several miles to get home it might be worth a wipe over with a bucket of 'Zero Water' or similar to remove any dust before the cover goes on.
