GR86 Oil and water temperatures after a long run

I had a long, quick run from Newcastle to Huddersfield this afternoon, and wondered if the indicated temperatures for oil and water struck anyone else as a bit high?

It was all A1 and M62, and fairly clear, so - unless you're Babylon - I was sitting at an indicated 77mph for roughly two hours.

When I got home, water and oil temps both showed within one or two degrees of 90C.

Are they about what you would all expect?

Those readings are perfectly normal for cruising. Your coolant will be stable regardless, oil will fluctuate if you drive hard, over 100degC is easily doable and nothing to worry about.

Coolant is a bit low for a modern engine. I hadn't noticed that in mine, will have to pay more attention.

Same readings as mine.

I love watching the oil temp rise and fall depending on how I'm driving. Over 100c isn't too difficult.

Most I've seen oil get to is 106. I'm not trying hard enough. But it drops quite quickly again once you back off

Not hot at all, if anything, on the cool side of normal.
I recently had a customer ask me to increase their high oil temperature alarm to 130 'C...
