Hi all,
I have a GR86 on order (hopefully, come Monday that is), but in the meantime I am fortunate to have a couple of fun cars besides the family bus.
My history is mostly with small, light(ish) cars, and I guess you could say I'm a bit of a pasta and sushi lover having been through mostly Italian and Japanese cars.
I've had a 1991 Honda NSX (MT) for nearly 8 years now, which is by far the longest I've kept a fun car.
In the other side of the garage is a 1997 Fiat Cinquecento Sporting, which is a much newer arrival - rekindling the pleasure I had in a red one as my first 'new' car many moons ago. Thought I would have got bored of it after 6 months, but it's still here!
Also thoroughly enjoyed a couple of MK1 MX5s (early 1.6) before and several Alfas.
Still resisting the move to electric as you can see! If anything, I seem to be regressing...

Beautiful NSX! It's an itch that I have been wanting to scratch for a long time but prices have gone mental. I have it's baby brother, an S2000 which I have had for 15 years (the longest I have kept any car). But even if I sold that & the GR, it wouldn't be enough to fund a low mileage NSX

Keep a hold of it if you can, as the prices are only going one way!

Lovely NSX.

I too had a red Cinq Sporting as my first car. Fun, wobbly times!

Love the NSX, I borrowed one to use for my wedding. Fantastic driving experience, especially the noise

I am with you, not a chance I will have an electric car. (y)

Well I can't rule out the move to electric at some point, but the chances of one of my 'fun' cars being electric is not likely with the current tech and weight.
I guess I'm old fashioned in that I enjoy driving, feeling the road, having to put in some effort to get it right. It's a tactile, sensory experience at its best.
Deprived of gearchanges and the aural experience that is a great engine, there needs to be more left in there than exists yet in EVs.
Perhaps there will be very clever drive/handling modes where the electronics simulate different handling characteristics, etc.
It may not be the same driving experience, but maybe it will be fun in a different way.
And of course it's harsh to judge todays' Gen1 EVs against what will come in just 10-15 years' time.
But still, the bar is set high in my opinion.

Mine and the wife’s. The Tesla is great for longer journeys and of course the acceleration is ridiculous.
Nice matching combo there!
I'm shortly to lose the Cinquecento, so it will be the NSX and the GR86 come late-October (hopefully).
I'm hoping that pairing will see me through the next decade with a smile on my face, for as long as I can afford to fill them up!
And the S-Max family bus of course...
