Mk1 XR2

Have a 1983 XR2 which was my daily until the GR arrived. Now has sat unused in my lockup for a year. Not helped as I only spend 3 months of the year in UK.

I bought one of these new in 1982.
84 BHP!
Wished I'd still got it. All I've got left are the Ford locking wheel nuts which you had to buy extra.

Not as new 5speed with LSD and 2 litre zetec. Great car and snaps more necks than the GR but love my GR to bits so XR2 is in exile.

Love it to bits but never find the time to drive it as I enjoy the GR so much. Probably get it MOT,d next time home then look to sell to someone who is happy not to drive it, or keep it on special days only. For 3 years it was my only car (but wife had her CH-R) so used all the time I was at home, still less than 3500 on it since restoration.

I had one many moons ago & it was a cracking car. Much preferred the looks of the Mk1 vs the Mk2 & still do. A mate had one in the late 80's & he dropped an RS Turbo engine in to it & ended up being magazine featured, Fast Ford & various others. Was probably right before the days of Max Power & Cosworth engines getting dropped in to Mk1 Escorts & everything else
