Running KW V3 (P/N 35256027) on my 2024 GR Yaris (GXPA16 facelift).
Car has had a proper wheel alignment and drives nicely - tracks straight, no pull, no strange behavior in that sense. We couldn't get the camber where we wanted it though, so I'm planning to go back with either camber bolts or the KW adjustable top mounts to sort that out. When I go back for that second alignment session, I'd also like to address the issue below.
The KW V3 reuses the top bearings from the OEM struts, might be worth mentioning.
The issue: if I turn full lock to the left (making a u-turn) and then drive straight, the steering wheel sits perfectly centered. If I turn full lock to the right (also u-turn) and then drive straight, the steering wheel sits slightly off to the right. It stays that way until I do a full lock left (u-turn) again, which resets it back to center.
Nothing is loose - all bolts are torqued. No clunking or popping noises. It's purely that the steering wheel position shifts depending on which direction was the last full lock turn. Classic memory steer behavior, but only in one direction.
The perch is set at roughly mid-range, so excessive preload shouldn't be the issue.
Has anyone had this on the Gen 2? Or seen how the helper and main spring are supposed to be oriented relative to each other on the KW V3? Can't find a single install video for coilovers on the facelift model anywhere.
Really appreciate you guys sharing your experience. Hopefully someone knows first hand.
