Hi Ben,
Thanks for posting. I have my GR and my 335D XDrive insured through A plan, renewal early-ish January. Is there any truth in the theory that the optimum time to renew is 3-4wks out from policy expiry?

Hi Rich!

i can only speak for us and not any other insurers/brokers but with us, you could do it the day before and it doesn't make any difference, we always explore all of the market to make sure we are getting you the best price and right level of cover, no difference if you do it 3 weeks before or 2 hours before its due to lapse, (wouldn't recommend leaving it til the last hour though :ROFLMAO: )

Watch admin fees with Howdens…I’ve just been quoted £37 to add my partner onto a policy with them. Not bad, I thought.

Then a £50 admin fee and £10 insurance premium tax were added, taking that to £97!

Just had the pleasure of dealing with a very friendly South African colleague of yours named Richard who was very helpful in arranging cover for my modified GR Yaris at a very reasonable rate which was substantially cheaper than others 👍

Just about to start a new policy with Howdens. I dealt with Charles at the Thatcham branch. All mods declared and all good. Took the opportunity to take out breakdown cover as it was more comprehensive that the AA cover that Toyota offer (only a couple of quid more expensive). It certainly wasn't the cheapest cover on the market, but seemed to offer all I needed.

What does the Howdens cover do that the AA doesn't?
