GR86 GR86 - alternative “armrest solution”

Become obsessed with finding a solution that stops the accidental opening of the GR86 cantilever armrest lid; protects while allowing the USB sockets to be used. And, doesn’t look like a dog’s breakfast.

First attempt with UPVC black plastic sheet ok but no home-run

Latest iteration uses a black foam Yoga Block headrest - cheap as chips on Amazon - carved the shape with a serated bread knife.

Opening the armrest lid accidentally with my elbow drove me nuts more than it should have done. I bought a padded piece of foam from the internet solved this problem. It's not the greatest looking addition but it works perfectly and feels comfortable. Easily removed too. I'm sure this is not the perfect solution so keep going with your work.

You'll see those in quite a few GR86, including mine. It's bloody marvellous for resting the ol' elbow on!
