Hey All,

Hoping there are some people on here that can help - I want to replace the mediocre horn on my 21 GRY with Toyota's Dual Premium Horn parts.

The "issue" is the GRY from factory only has a single horn - so there is only mounting location for the horn - mounted in front:

So I want to fabricate a bracket that is mountable to the stock hole where the current horn mounts - that allows you to then mount the 2 shell horns to the bracket so it sits in the same location as the stock horn.

I already have a mock up of a design - but it based solely on thumb suck numbers and eyeballing it using paper templates:

Im trying my best to try and get an idea of spacing and how much space I have to work with at the very tom and the bottom - however it becomes a little tricky because the space you have to try and guesstimate things is TIGHT trying to work between the small slats on the front grill and manipulate a piece of paper into place.

As you can see I am trying to line up the bolt holding the stock horn to the paper template hole.

Another thing that is proving a little challenging is that the front numper has this polystyrene behind hit - almost making a bit of a shelf - and the polystyrene has like these little humps that you have to compete with.

Lastly the OEM Premium horns also sit a lot lower as they have their own mounting bracket attached to them so I technically need to mount them a little higher because they will sit a little lower because of the bracket attached to them.

So now for the ask.

I don't really have the tools right now (or the space for that matter) to take off the bumper and grab the measurements I need so hoping someone out there already has their bumper off and wouldnt mind grabbing the measurements so I can refine my current eyeballed template?

I need to know how much room I have between the mounting bolt and the top of the polystyrene:

and how much space I have from the top of the mounting nut until it touched the plastic shroud:

I have seen people mount the PIA ones near the bonnet release catch etc - but I just want mine to sit where the stock one sits.

I have the same alternative Toyota twin horn set waiting to go onto my car. I cannot help with measurements but I've found the following alternatives (with smaller horns admittedly) that I was going to replicate when I get round to fitting. Perhaps try something like this first?

You shouldn't need to fabricate a bracket. The legs on the premium horns should be long enough to mount them both on the same bolt hole.

I probably wouldn't run them in front of the Rad myself

This is where mine are.

Got the same OEM horns waiting on my GRY to be delivered.

I get that most of you place these horns in a different position than the original one. Did some of you actually remove the old horn without removing the front bumper? That seems not to be possible?
I feel like if you want to do this properly, you place the new ones in the original position. Or if you install them as most of you do, then at least remove the stock horn. But I guess that is just me :ROFLMAO: And probably I'll do the same as everyone else here in the end. đŸ˜‡:p

No need for bumper off, use long nose pliers to disconnect existing horn. Connect 1 into 2 extension cable (amazon) and locate horns behind bonnet catchView attachment 39650

I did exactly that today. The horns sound different, but they are very quiet. I can't say whether it's because of where they are installed, whether the horns are not as loud as specified, or whether there is not enough power flowing. I'll try installing a relay and see what happens.

Perhaps once the relay is installed, I'll fit compressed air horns or horns like the ones that were popular in Italy in the 1980s. The main thing is that cyclists riding side by side jump off their bikes. :ROFLMAO:

Did you install the OEM upgraded horn or aftermarket? OEM should be a plug&play fit without the need of a relay.
