GR Yaris (Gen 2) FL: intake gaps, anybody?

Howdy, am I the only one who has these gaps:

The entire front part seems looser than normal. Reason I’m asking is that my dealership here in Italy has been saying since March that Toyota knows the problem and they are waiting for a solution…
When will that be, approximately?

I saw the same thing on a Gen 2 about 6 months ago, when I test drove it.
I pointed it out to the dealer, who didn’t know much about the GR Yaris.
I think it may be deliberate to allow more air flow from the engine bay at low speed and then the air flow from the scoop at the front at higher speeds means the gap doesn’t matter.
