Hey there,

Am wondering if someone can help.. so my detailer says I need to supply own double sided tape for the rear square plates (boo).

Anyone here with tell me what they use pls? Am thinking of getting this?

Thanks!

Genuine 3M VHB is the best I’ve found. The advantage is that when the plate is removed the tape stays intact and can be easily removed. Some of the cheaper foam tapes can be a real hassle to remove.

Do you have square plates? can I ask if those black foams should be removed? and just place the 3m tape where the screw holes are? any ideas pls?

Thanks

I’ve a normal plate. I covered the two screw holes with a couple of small pieces of clear PPF to stop moisture getting in to the boot lid. I removed the two small foam pads and cut the tape to avoid the raised metal parts.

Detailer was concern on the vibration if the foam is removed...? I guess not to be concern about

I used that tape held no bother always has and I removed the black foam blocks

I used the stuff that’s about 40mm wide strip on the top one on the bottom never budged

I went with the dual hook 3M stuff, a long strip along the top and bottom. Quite a lot of dirt gets stuck behind the square plate and tends to drip down after washing. It’s handy being able to take it off every now and then.

That’s a good shout

Not massive fan of the quality of the plates tbh... might change it at some point.

Exhaust to be replaced with HKS Spec L2 and TRD splitter fitted.. watch this space!

I really don`t like screws or dealers details or anything else apart from the number (y)
