GR86 Detailer recommendations in/around Edinburgh

Hi all,

I'm planning on taking my car straight to a detailer once collected from the dealership (advised them not to touch it already ) and was initially planning on ceramic coating but given all the info 're softness of paint I think I'll probably go for PPF and wondered if anyone had any recommendations? I've checked out the links kindly posted of the various companies but just looking to see of any personal experiences, I'm based in Edinburgh but happy to travel within central belt/Glasgow.

Hi @AWB, I'm across in Dunfermline and have always used Zoldani Auto Salon who are on the Elgin Industrial Estate near the City centre (You can also find them on facebook here ). Last March, I drove my KonaN direct from Hyundai Edinburgh to Zoldani and left it with them for 3 days. Having now had my GR86 order placed I went down to see Barry (the Owner) again and enquired about doing the same to my GR86. I got some prices for a complete New Car Detail (which includes paint Prep etc), 5Yr Gtechniq Ceramic Coating and xPel (self healing) PPF to the full front quarter, which is the same as I had on my KonaN only last year (plus an extra £100 for boot loading area). Zoldani are both Gtechniq and Xpel accredited. They are also previous Winners of Scotland's Detailing Business of the Year.
Costs quoted for the GR86 were...
All prepwork and Coatings (includes wheels): £625
xPel PPF to Front Bumper: £415+vat = £498
xPel PPF to Bonnet, Front Wings and Mirrors: £640+vat = £768
Total Cost for Ceramics + PPF = £1,891

If you contact Barry tell him that 'Bryan with the grey Kona N' gave you the heads up, maybe he'll give me a free Air Freshener!
Plus, if you wanna have a look at the work they did on my KonaN, just PM me and we could arrange a quick meet up at South Queensferry or something ...

AR exclusive in Glasgow are superb best work Iv seen and their PPF is meticulous, they have done a few GR86 also.
I Had my Yaris done and the supercar owners at knockhill were asking where it was done as was a better finish than they had experienced previously.

Hi @Cholmondeley-Biscuitt thanks for the info, I hadn’t heard of Zoldani before but know where you are with Elgin industrial estate as I worked in Dunfermline for a few years. I saw the pics of your Kona and it looks stunning.
I ended up booking in with Autobath Detailing to secure a slot in August when my car is due to arrive. I found them on the xPel website, checked out the reviews and went down and saw their work last week and it looked very good so . I’ll pass the info onto my father in law though as we were chatting about this today down at the Jim Clark weekend and he’s based just outside Perth so this would work well for him too and all being well you’ll get an air freshener or similar for your referral!
