Since brand new my DAT8 presents strange behaviour. When fluid is cold (below 40 centigrades), transmission is reluctant to downshift from 3rd to 2nd - it keeps 3rd engaged to about 10 km/h. Downshift can be enforced by paddle without any problem. Upshifts are also fine. When fluid temp reaches 40 c, downshifts are no longer problematic - when commuting the downshift to 2nd happens around 25 km/h.

Does anybody have the same issue? Or maybe it's not a bug, it's a feature?

That’s a protection feature, it’s cold.

I think its fine and programmed feature. It takes some time for transmissions to get into operating temps and doing fast shifts while cold is definitely harsh on components (like with everything mechanical). For example my brother just got new Tremec manual Dark Horse mustang, trying to shift that right after cold startup is proper workout :ROFLMAO: Once it gets into operating temps its smooth, but before that you can really feel the struggle that transmission goes through.
