GR Yaris Cold start getting much noisier with age

It's probably to be expected as the exhaust system ages, but I find my car has developed quite a barrel-chested noise on cold startup during the past few thousand km. This is with the standard system at nearly two years and 36,000 km of pretty hard driving.

Dare I say it, it almost sounds...good?
