After reading a lot of good stuff about C-tec, I visited their workshop nr. Rotherham today for installation a C-TEC V Band gpf back exhaust. Nigel and the boys were a pleasure to deal with and I saw first hand the the attention to detail that other reviewers have referred to. Nigel pointed out the chassis bungs, explained how these should be fitted during PDI but are often missing on cars, leading to ingress of water and possible corrosion down the line. My car went up and down on the ramps several times to ensure perfect alignment and fitting it the exhaust, no blow, rattle or vibration. I'm really impressed with the fit and quality of the exhaust and love the sound, enough to give the car a sporty sound but not unsociably loud.
Judging by the number of cars, GRYs and Evo's, and working well in to Friday evening, they obviously have a strong customer base but I never felt rushed and got some great info on oil types, shear properties vs weight etc.
I travel to RRG Macclesfield for service to maintain warranty but will certainly be using C-TEC for any other work, specifically I'm looking to get booked in for a HEL oil cooler as data logging shows my oil temps are getting towards the upper end of spec especially this time of year on a good B road run. As I don't track the car, I'll be going for a smaller HEL oil cooler. Give Nigel a shout if you're looking for a thinking man / woman's GRY workshop!
