GR Yaris Broken windscreen

Noticed this weekend that windscreen is cracked from the top of mirror - strangely there seems to be no external hit on the screen. Is there any other similar cases that wind screen would have cracked? I do have wind screen insurance but feel this kind of warranty topic if wind screen gets cracked without any external cause.. Of course Toyota can easily throw it to insurance.

The bolt doesn’t touch the glass it screws up to the metal mount which is bonded to the glass

I wouldn’t be surprised if the extra leverage caused by the riser moving the mirror away puts extra strain on the glass though

oh bugger. need to check this more in detail tomorrow. Maybe should ditch the riser as not needed. actually the whole mirror could be ditched..

The mirror is quite heavy and vibrates a lot as standard. With the glass being so thin the additional leverage must put strain on the area but I don’t know if it would be enough to crack the glass
