Has anyone fitted one of the various 6-pot/380mm front brake kits available for the GR Yaris? Seem to be a number listed on US/Aussie parts suppliers websites using Alcon or AP parts at around £2.5k

I hardly think the GRY is under braked as standard and I guess there is little benefit on the road, but would be interested in anyone experience (good or bad) as I can’t see any existing chat on the forums.

Actually the caliper seals on the stock Brakes seem to not like excessive heat and the replacement disks also are relatively expensive. These problems have made the titanium brake shims so popular on stock brakes.
I don't have any experience with the Big Brake kits that are on the market but I haven't heard anything negative about those solutions either.
HRNSHN Racing offers an AP Racing Kit if I remember correctly and Phil from Rötheli Racing is running carbon brakes.

We use this Kit in 374mm:

It is absolutely fantastic, but overkill for the road.
Every big Brake Kit is overkill, if you don‘t track the car frequently.
If you track the car in kinda OEM Spec 1-2x/year, you‘ll be fine with pads, brake fluid, titanium shims, additional cooling and brake lines.

If you start using 255/265mm wide Semis and have more power, you‘ll find the brakes very fast at their limit, especially if it‘s a hot day.

The OEM Brakes are very good, don‘t get me wrong, and one of the best brakes for the road i ever had in a stock car.
But for frequent track use, they just can‘t handle the heat.
And that‘s when you want to swap for bigger brakes with larger and thicker discs with better internal cooling and Brake Calipers with thicker Pads which will last longer and also can handle the heat better.
