Hi. I was driving my GRY this morning in freezing fog. Visibility was a few hundred metres so not really thick fog. I had my lights in auto as usual and noticed that whilst the daytime running lights were on the headlights were not. In my opinion headlights were definitely needed so I switched them on manually. Auto function seems to work fine for light/dark but it would appear that fog isn’t dark enough. Has anybody else experienced similar?

I never trust the auto so just put them on manually, more for peace of mind for the rear lights than anything. Not related to sensors but note to self to wipe the headlights occasionally too - after salt and grime build up on the roads there is a decent effect on their brightness. An obvious point but when it got dark yesterday as I set off it was quite noticeable and glad I gave them a quick wipe.

I think the DRLs would be fine but I turned mine on manually today with the fog

Always put my headlights on in any fog. You want your rear lights on, and they aren't on with the DRL.

Driving across valleys and hills today, so going through patches of pretty dense fog. Bellends driving without any lights on. In grey cars. Invisible. 🤬
