Hi All,

Only wishing to give the GR the best petrol available, are there any apps that show you the nearest petrol stations that have super unleaded?

Cheers.

I believe they also have an app but petrolprices.com will give the info you need.

What, isn't super (95) and super plus (98) the standard fuel? Or is the terminus different in UK and super in UK actually is 100 or higher octane fuel. That's called ultimate (aral) or v-power/v-power racing (shell) in Germany. Long ago I have been to UK and never have been withe the car.

In the UK, regular unleaded is 95, super is 97+

Hasn't it changed now so that E10 is classed as regular and E5 as super unleaded? Where E5 is UP TO 5% ethanol which could be as low as 0 or 1%
Yes, but the octane ratings are still 95 & 97+ as far as I know (regardless of the ethanol content)

Oh okay. I did not have seen benzin bleifrei (91) for about 20 years. I did not know that fuel with such low octane rating is still sold today. I thought its just a USA thing.

I use Waze to find the best price locally. Always good when you're venturing in to new areas 😊

Both Shell and BP have apps that show the nearest stations and details of what fuel they have. Shell even allows you to filter by fuel type (ie vpower)

I've found it to be unreliable. It also doesn't help you find 99 RON stations (Tesco, Esso, or Shell - any others?).

Heresy maybe, but I head for the nearest decent size Tesco filling station as their Momentum is always 99ron (compared to BPs and some others 97) and unlike VPower is only a few pence more than regular 95

Even if your car doesnt specify super unleaded the higher ethanol content in regular 95 isnt good for internal hoses and seals

Went for Shell in the end, using the app you get points as well.
My pecking order I'm thinking:
1. Shell
2. BP
3. Tesco99.
4. Other supermarket supers.

The BP premium is only 97RON not that should be much of an issue, but I’d add the Esso premium to your list which is 99RON and is the only one to not contain any ethanol (apart from in some locations in the SW and Wales)
