GR86 Any idea what this noise is?

Evening all,

just come back from a 40min drive and parked in garage and i hear this sound.. seems to be from drivers side rather than passenger. im a noob when it comes to engines and weird sounds so might be normal! TIA

It's just the metal ticking as it cools and contracts. Always happens after a long drive, and is probably more noticeable on these cars due to them having a lot of aluminium in the construction. Absolutely nothing to be concerned about.

nice. thanks. that was my first thought. im only 1.5k miles in and most of that has been short journeys so its still probs flexing.

Most of that one man band is from the manifold heat shield, I think it just sounds extra loud in a garage.
