Hi there,
two years ago, I bought a new red GR Y with CP (dubbed "High Performance Pack" in Germany). I placed the order in May, and in July the car stood in the show room to be picked up. The dealer was smart enough to get his friends, relatives, employees order one, then, when the cars were on route, swap their names for those of the customers who signed a contract. Waiting time: minimal.
It was the shape of the GR Y and the tech specs that hooked me, not the way the car is meant to be driven. In fact, I am a cruiser, not a racer.
The GR Y is a supernova on wheels, a hell of a vehicle - totally and utterly overwhelming me. It swamps me with sheer performance. Sometimes I feel the car is driving out there on the Autobahn, but my senses are still in the driveway.
Although I am aware that the GR Y is a very special race/rallye car, I drive the it reluctantly, with little enthusiasm. So far I have put 5000 km / 3000 mls on the odo.
I guess I would step on the pedals harder in a hybrid Yaris.
Maybe I will sell it in two years when I need the money for paying off a mortgage on the house.
And then - maybe not, I'll give it a chance to grow on me.
It's got some stablemates, whose character I am more in line with.
If you ask me .... yeah .... I guess I still like the GR Y.
