In a change from past years where numbers were strictly limited, this year's GR-Zoo Euro road trip will be open to all, with the caveat that you will be given the itinerary and route, and have to sort your own hotels out. This is for a couple of reasons, the main one being my sanity, and the second being that Booking.com properties have started imposing silly rules to prevent block / mass bookings.
A full list of all the hotels booked for the 'regulars' will be provided, so all you need to do is jump on Booking.com, find the hotels, and sort your room out yourself. If there's no availabiltiy you should be able to find something nearby in order for us all to meet up in the evenings for beers, food and banter.
This also gives everyone the opportunity to find somewhere to fit their own budget!
Dates are set, our first night on the continent will be 4th September in Luxembourg
Last night, also in / around Luxembourg, will be 14th September, with some of us getting the ferry from Rotterdam to Hull, others will be using the tunnel. By the time we get to the end you'll have made some firm friends, and have some amazing experiences to look back on.
Along the way, you'll see some of the most fantastic roads that Western Europe has to offer, and see some amazing sights, with overnights in Colmar, Zermatt and Como to name just a few.
What we are looking for now are firm commitments. Anyone who absolutely wants to be there and join in with what has, for the last 3 years, been an unforgettable experience.
If you can commit, and are happy to book your crossing based on just the above, then pop your name in a post below.
Once all hotels have been confirmed you'll receive a full list, along with a .gpx file for each day's route, then it's simply a case of arranging your accomodation.
There'll also be a whatsapp group set up exclusively for all those coming along, so eveyone can keep track of all events.
