GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

It may seem abit OTT on the styling but I’d have the Rovanpera edition and I love that wing! Then again I like the FK8 type R so not necessarily the best judge of taste…

GR Yaris (Gen 2) Intelligent Speed Assist / ISA

I believe manufacturers are required to make it so that ISA can’t be disabled in the way many are proposing here. Not impossible of course but given how much modern cars run off computers nowadays even if you want to, it may not be possible without significant workarounds.

GR Yaris (Gen 2) Intelligent Speed Assist / ISA

ISA is one thing, but atm you can switch it off each time you get in. Did you also know all cars are mandated to have telematics which send anonymised data to the EU on speeding? I fully expect to see a report in a few years using this data to show the true extent of speeding across the EU, with...

GR Yaris (Gen 2) Intelligent Speed Assist / ISA

I expect ISA will be on the new model. Saw Harry’s garage review of the defender 130 this week and it had it on (he promptly turned it off as 99% of drivers will).

GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

I had similar thoughts about the GRMN when I read about the additional chassis weld/adhesive. With the other upgrades I think this will be much quicker around a circuit, and with more headroom to tune the engine due to the additional cooling & strengthened internals. I have taken mine on track...

GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

You could say the same about the CTR. Also 300 is just the UK allocation. Many other factors like the emissions regs, inflation and interest rates also contribute. A facelift version of a car, which has near universal praise, being sold at less than the inflation adjusted price with more...

GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

If they only play to sell 300 in the UK it absolutely will. This is not going to be sold in anywhere near the numbers the original GRY was. Similar to the pricing of the FL5 CTR which is too high for me personally, yet they’ve had no trouble shifting them.

GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

One of the few realistic price posts on this. Inflation adjusted cost+ a few £k for the improvements. Nobody sells a facelift for the same price as the base model. So £40k-£45k is the realistic price point imo.

GR86 Autocar GR86 vs Focus ST

Was genuinely considering the civic until I saw the price. Saw one last week at a PH event and it looks great but still, pushing £50k is too high a price imo.

GR86 Autocar GR86 vs Focus ST

I’d agree on the focus. A pre facelift version it’s probably the one to get if you want a focus ST, although I would say the new Ford seats are fantastic.

    Track Day

I went to the Toyota GR track day at Thruxton. I thought it was a nice circuit and enjoyed the day. There was an excellent thread on Pistonheads around first time track day advice so check that out. From my experience of Thruxton: -learn the track, and build up through the day, don’t go out...

GR Yaris Get the right oil. SP not SN+

I’ve used my own oil for both annual services. SN+ is all they have. They will swear blind they have the right oil but if you get them to bring out the bottle it’s SN+. UK manual does say it’s ok to have SN+ but the oil cap has SP and Japanese version has SP so that’s what I’m going with.

GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

I has this last year. Honestly through the road was a 40 (had been the last time I drove it) but turns out it’s been dropped to a 30 a few months before. Confidently crused past the police at 39, got the letter a few days later 🙈.

GR Yaris Toyota GR Performance Parts / also listing for GR Yaris

I saw a Japanese video a few years ago saying the GRMN parts would go on sale once the GRMN run was finished so seems like that’s the case. The seats look great, just need to find a way to import them. Still feel Toyota have missed a trick not offering GR parts elsewhere in the world 🤷🏼‍♂️.

Colin McRaes 22B Prototype at auction tomorrow - How Much?

£600k. Do love a 22B but like the R34 skyline they’re now both mega money and on the lottery list. Saw this on Harry’s Garage. There’s a few McRae cars up for sale, all likely to fetch very high prices.

GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

Yes outside of Europe I think it’s fair to say they will keep selling ICE vehicles. America for example, is never giving it up! Hence companies like Ford still releasing things like the new Mustang GTD or Bronco R which look amazing. But in the UK/Europe we’ll be zooming around in BEVs with...

GR Yaris (Gen 2) GR Yaris Mk2 (MY2024->)

The GR hydrogen car has a huge tank in the back behind the drivers, not really practical for a road car. It’s a nice bit of marketing but hydrogen is not going to be the answer, synthetic fuels are more likely for “petrolheads” to still get their fix, although they’ll only be for those who can...

GR Yaris Millions at Bicester Heritage today

I was one of the many. Nice event, some really great cars on display and some special stuff in the car park too.
