The GR Yaris has only recently become available here in Brazil, so there’s very little local information about aftermarket wheel fitment. I’d really appreciate some advice from experienced owners.
I’m considering the following setup:
My biggest concern with ET45 is strut clearance. Has anyone actually experienced rubbing or clearance issues with 18x9.5 ET45 wheels? Can this setup be used without spacers, or are spacers necessary?
I really want to avoid using spacers.
Regarding ET38, several Australian wheel shops recommend ET38 or ET39, but I’m concerned about possible rubbing against the fenders.
Since the factory wheels have an ET45 offset, would switching to ET38 noticeably affect handling?
Some online sources suggest ET38 is better for aesthetics, while ET45 is better for track performance. Is there any noticeable difference in real-world driving?
I’m also planning to install HKS coilovers in the near future. Could this affect wheel clearance or influence which offset would be more suitable?
Finally, what about 19-inch wheels? Are they worth considering, or would they compromise ride comfort and handling too much?
My goal is a great-looking setup with excellent handling, primarily for street use, without spacers or fender modifications.
I’d really appreciate any firsthand experiences, recommendations, or photos of your setups!
