Wondered why it was so slow.

Ahhh…that’ll be why

Was about 38°C at the time. I guess the intercooler was just way past its ability to cool anything.

It's interesting the Temp difference between the ambient and MAF. Do you think that is accurate?

It’s only taking the data from the sensors, what the ECU sees, so unless Ecutek have the wrong scale or formula (in which case I’d assume the values would be all over the place) I reckon it’s going to be pretty accurate.

It’s usually around 10-15°C above ambient

Setting up Temp senders can be a little problematic if that's the right word because they are not linear like a pressure sensor. It basically involves using a known math's table for the sensor and uploading the values to the ECU.
Spent some time setting up a Plex dash with individual sensors.
I run about 2 degrees C above ambient when cruising measured just before the TB.

Took the car for it's minor service and MOT at Toyota and left without having it done.

The car was booked in first thing in the morning so I could wait and take it away but, having been reminded of the significantly increased cost to which there was now an "environmental fee" on top, was told that it was going to have to be with them for the whole day.

Somewhat unimpressed. Another couple there were in the same boat.

My disappointment at the job not being done while I waited as met with looks that suggested that it was my fault, and the last straw was a lovely lady telling me that I was welcome to spend the day at the dealership and they'd happily keep me topped up with tea and biscuits.

I asked for my keys to be returned and cancelled the work. When asked if I wanted to rebook, I declined. The other couple cheered.

So the car is with my local Protyre who have been excellent for me over the last few years with my other cars. They took time to ensure they could get the right oil and they are doing the service and MOT this afternoon.

That sucks. Good for voting with your feet. I did my MOT at a local garage this time round and they’re great with my other car, I might compromise and take it somewhere that’s non main dealer but still knows the car (string theory etc). Aware of the fact that use of genuine parts should maintain the wider warranty but I am questioning the point in continuing with servicing just for the warranty since anything is still subject to Toyota approval.

Slapped in some new brake pads. OEM again, since they lasted so long the first time. Learned that the brake dust doesn't just cover the wheels, it also welds all the pins to the calipers.

Serviced it at my local dealer here in Norway a few days ago. Excellent service from those guys as always, which doesn't seem to be the norm for dealerships according to this forum 😄. Had them change gearbox oil while they were at it.

Ordered some Focal IS TOY 165 front speakers and some dynamat.
Going on a ~5000km road trip later this summer, and started thinking that a slightly better sound quality probably wouldn't hurt 😅

You won't regret it. A very good upgrade over the woeful standard fit speakers, wish I'd done mine on day one!

Focal IS TOY 165 speakers and tweeters installed. Was a surprisingly easy job. Both doors + some sound insulation done in less than a couple of hours.

Pretty basic upgrade, changing only 2 front speakers and tweeters, with no DSP or anything, but still a very big improvement.
Much clearer sound at all volume levels. Treble is a bit sharp out of the box, so had to turn it down a bit in the EQ. Wish there was a step between -1 and -2, but that's nitpicking.

Sound system isn't exactly a priority for me in this car, but at least now it is more than decent enough!
