GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

Installed IPF F50DFLB fog lights and I love them !

Here's quick showcase recorded using phone.

where did you purchase the lamp assemblies and the bulbs?
lamps directly at toyota dealership, or did you find a better alternative? thx!

Really like these 👍 were they easy to convert / install? I replaced the fog light bulbs in my Focus RS with switchable yellow / white bulbs
Both lamp assemblies were availible new through dealer - it took them something like two working days to get them delivered to me (These are the droids you're looking for). Part numbers are 81220-47010 and 81210-47010.
The IPF replacement bulbs sadly are available only through ebay or blackhawkjapan etc - so additional tax and expensive shipping cost from Japan are to be expected - the exact model is IPF H8.11.16 F50DFLB.

These are really easy to convert where only hard part is removing upper fog light assembly phillips bolt that's hard to reach unless you're taking the whole bumper off (there are three phillips screws per side to remove). Essentially with high enough ramps or jack stands it's possible to change them from underneath the car as I did. You'll need to remove six 10mm bumper bolts per side and three pop clips - after that it's possible to move the bumper liner a bit and take tiny ratchet with #2 Phillips to screw this whole assembly off. After that It's just a plug to put in and light module to secure (I took 30cm long zip tie and tied them on top of inner bumper air inlets - the're super secure).
There is no extra wiring to do - just two clicks of fog light switch in something like 3 seconds for module to recognize the signal and to change the color output

I hope it helps guys ;)

In other news: We had TOP MEN visiting from Toyota Baltics yesterday, and we got the following run down, outside of standart warranty, which is 3 years or 100 k km mostly, when TOYOTA RELAX warranty starts, we can ONLY service the cars with TOYOTA fluids, all oils, brake fluid, cooling fluid, because if something happens to anything be it engine, brakes, whatever outside of standart warranty and the client or us have not been using Toyota fluids or parts, filters as well, the RELAX warranty will most likely not be honored, that will also be inside the next repairer/retailer agreement. Just something to keep in mind.

looks nice, like OEM, where did you source the switch?

My post of the switch
But it is mechanically designed a little dumb, luckily it looks oem, because the light on top comes on not when the switch is just pushed as to know that it is on but rather only when the light bar is physically on as well :ROFLMAO:
That is one downside but I don't mind it THAT much.

Had a Hunters 4 wheel alignment done on my Yaris by the brilliant Abbey Motorsport in Oxted. After 3 years and 20k miles the front Toe was slightly out from standard circuit pack settings, but the rear was way out. Car now feels so much more 'lively' and sharp and ready for another year or so Sussex pot holed B road action, £120 well spent imo. BTW, if you can find them, I have only great things to say about the service and whole friendly set up at Abbey, great tea and banter and Jap enthusiasts (GTRs everywhere) who know their trade inside out. A refreshing change from the corporate blandness of a Toyota service centre.....

Agree - I also use them and they're great.

After using the car pretty much just as a run around doing no more than 100km in a run I went on a bit of a road trip. While I am self unemployed I am helping out some former work colleagues on some project work at one of my old client's sites. That entailed a 500km round trip on what you guys would refer to as A and B roads though here they are highways.

Trip up was fairly uneventful and it wasn't until I left the main population areas that I felt back in the groove. Catching and passing on the open road was a breeze, the usual hang behind a little to see if the bloated underpowered shitbox in front (aka SUV) was going to pass the truck or not. Then blast past one, both, all. It was really enjoyable. The car is noisy, it is a bit harsh on broken surfaces of which there are many and it wanders in cross winds at highway speeds but the last two are because I have set the suspension up that way. There was some rain and also some ranges. It was a fair test of the new Yoko Advan V601s.

The Advans are pretty decent but lack the overall grip of an AD08R or AD09. They aren't as quiet as the V107s but not as noisy as the AD tyres. The tyre comes with a deep tread and because they only have a couple of thousand km on them you can feel the tread blocks squirm. It isn't overall tyre pressure it is skipping on the tread blocks as they lose grip then reacquire the grip. They are quite good on gravel with plenty of communication. At this stage I don't think I will get them again but still early days. I have the track AD08Rs to throw on if I want the extra grip. The V107 was probably a better road focussed tyre but those are pretty uninspiring if there is any gravel.

I had a good run on the ranges. One has been completely ruined and you can easily drive at 100 (it is a 60 limit) on cruise. The other 3 though are still a lot of fun. I did find some odd behaviours. I passed a 4wd utility which was well back from a car and a 4wd with snail, they were all sitting at 90 in a 100 zone. The guy closed up behind me and flashed his lights for a few km until I rounded up the rest of the chicane. That is weird. Two that I passed who were incapable of travelling at a constant speed also closed up for a while then dropped back. Again I think they need to see their GP.

This is not the ultimate GT car. It is too noisy and compromised but it is a wonderful thing. You can sit back and drive like granny or you can get into it and not be held up by anything around. On the twisties it comes into its own. Akio and Tommy did good.
