GR Yaris GR-Yaris Rally2

Conditions were bad but drastically improved as more cars ran thru stage. Georg and Oliver are quick today mind! I’m routing for Georg as the team running his car are local to me.
Yes, Rally1 car were more or less sweeping the road for the Rally2 cars today. So much fresh snow covering lines for the first cars on stages.
But Georg keeping the pace of the "local hero" Oliver is really outstanding, both for the driver and for the GRY Rally2.

those SS6 and SS7 were very epic conditions - congrats for little GR on that historical stage victory.
Reminds a lot of those crazy snow days we go out to have fun. The speeds these drivers do is just crazy.

7mm rally studs on ice has a lot of grip... snow is bad though if there is too much of it for grip.

The inverse is true for us mere mortals on road tyres 😂

We visited the TGR WRT Rally2 production today and were quite impressed - the chassis of rally2 car is little bit stronger built than street version.

Engine is built in Germany and shares some of same components with street version but not too many.

Tgr does not supply any rally2 related parts directly but those could be requested via Teams than run the cars.

Imho rally2 car does look more beautiful in nature to rally1. Perfect mix of homologated car and a rally car.

Tgr outputs one rally2 car in a week.
Iirc it took 4wks to build one car.

For rally1 tube chassis it took 2.5months so little bit more work

“The regulation has been around for so long and there are lots of evolutions of all the other cars – it’s a very competitive market to come into. Everything has to work really well to match what everyone else has done as all the other cars are so good. Our first one has to be almost evo 3 or 4 straight away. That’s not just performance; it’s reliability, usability, everything has to be what everyone else has been doing for several years.”
