GR86 Window and boot - clicking noises

Just wondering if my car is the only one...

When I open the driver's door, the window drop makes a fairly loud plasticky click noise. The same happens if I drop the window from closed from inside the car using the button on the arm rest which is slightly more annoying because it's by my right ear. The passenger window doesn't make the same noise.

When I lift the boot I get a fairly loud metallic click but it only happens once. I can't recreate it unless I wait until the following day.

I sometimes get it when opening the boot, not always though. Nothing from the window though.

Yes, I also get the plasticky click sound when initially opening the drivers door, after unlocking the car, when the window initially drops.
Not noticed it when lowering it from inside, but now wondering! Will try it from inside tomorrow.

I definitely get a clunking noise opening the boot, as per your observation @leosayer this only seems to happen when the car is cold. Not noticed anything from the windows tbh...

When I close the boot I sometimes hear a noise like plastic creaking but I've put it down to one of the rear lights. At some point I'll take them out to make sure it's clean.

I have noticed a clicking from the Driver side window as I am making good progress. At first I thought it was the salt/grit being thrown up from the road but today the roads were clear. Opening the window makes it go away. I think it is the glass vibration against the rubber - when parked I pressed the window and could hear the ‘tick’ as it moved back away from the seal. I’ve used some gummie stuff on the seal and RainX along the window top edge, so we’ll see how it plays out. Just annoying as it’s right by yer ear hole

Mines the same! Drivers side only. Sounds like it's sticking a little even though the seals are treated. I think it happens a little less if I just pull the handle and then let the window drop before opening the door fully. I keep meaning to have a good look at the seal in case it just needed a clean but sounds like it's a common thing.

Happy to report that after my treatment of the seals with Gummi Pflege and the edges of the driver’s window with RainX, that I had Zero ticky-ticky noises from the window during my 100 miles round trip to Glasgow today - even when being pelted with rain, spray and making good progress at up to 80mph.
This would seem to confirm my ‘guess’ that it was the tackiness between glass and seal that was causing the annoying sound..

I'm getting the loud click / pop from the driver's window now. Did anyone find the root cause? There are loads of threads on US sites about it but no detail. It's not just a seal lube thing.
I'm not too worried since if it gets to be a real problem then it's just a warranty claim (unless they blame it on all the extra sound deadening I put in there)

My drivers side window has started doing this recently (always had the occasional noisy bootlid opening usually in warmer weather) I thought it might be down to the biblical wet weather of late.

I had the boot thing for the first few months and then it stopped or I stopped noticing it.

In the last 2-3 weeks it has developed the driver's window click.

No fix for this I'm afraid my driver door does it badly. Has done it since I can remember.

Mine has been making a noise from the drivers window for the last few months. Going to mention at service number two in January and see if the dealer can do anything.
