So my friend who is part of Everyday Driver (YouTube channel) has just picked this up.

How stunning is Neptune Blue 🥰

It does look like Grabber Blue doesn't it. And that's why I'll not be getting Neptune as it's the same colour as my Focus* :ROFLMAO:

*Nitrous Blue on my Focus is Grabber Blue but with added Pearlescent Sparkle

Nah, the rears are pretty std, but they are blue too.

That’s a pity , I’m sure they work fine but a matching set always looks good , the old GT86 Performance Pack Brembos and Sachs dampers looks an absolute bargin , I think it was around £1500 🤔 One of the GT86 owners will know

Unless you're reversing everywhere at speed having large rear callipers is just unnecessary weight though. (y)

Would have thought for a similar size Brembo would be lighter than most, if not all, OEM cast rear calipers 🤔 With the expense some folks go to to put carbon fibre tat on their cars for dubious ,if any, aero dynamic performance , but it’s carbon so it’s cool etc I’d rather have a matching pair of Brembos which look “cool” and actually do something positive Ie shed some weight and add extra stopping power 🤔

They will be lighter unless they are massive. Floating calipers are made from steel. Fixed calipers are predominantly aluminium.

I doubt I'll be on the edge so much on track that I'll be hunting the extra tenths of a second different weight calipers will give.

My Focus goes and stops well enough as I'll imagine the GR86 will do too. Probably more time to be gained from some professional track tutoring given my "Miss Daisy" driving style! :ROFLMAO::p

Found this again

The Performance Pack looks an absolute bargain, £1460 for Brembos all round, Sachs dampers and lighter weight alloy wheels , we are looking at several hundred ££££ for a bit of extra plastic on the boot lid 🤷‍♂️

Who will notice the difference? Nobody, but they look good :D

Stock GT86 rear caliper comes in at 2.63kg according to internet sources.

Reverse engineered Brembo 2 pot....

2.09kg

So near on 600g lighter, not earth shattering but its still lighter, and its unsprung mass which every goes mad for.

Many enthusiasts spend thousands on “stuff” which has dubious , if any, performance advantage because they like the “look“. I’d prefer my GR86 to look as though the brakes came out of the GRY parts bin not the one for the Prius, Corolla or C-HR 😳

I get the point about the OE fugly looking brakes being up to the job on the road , but no one is going to be drooling over them and ask you where they can get a set for their car😉

Are they on / from your GT86 🤔

Another plus point for the 20 spoke alloys on the CEO’s C-HR is they do a cracking job of hiding the brake callipers 👍 However they are a PITA to clean unless you have access to someone with tiny hands who likes using a sponge 😉
