Looks like I'm the first with a minor damage to their car!

The rear drivers wheel has been kerbed, from a pot hole which is super unlucky ( I haven't even parallel parked the car yet!)

To temporary touch it up before I get it repaired, does anyone recommend any touch up pens? I think satin black is the colour to go for.

Commiserations @SmokingPancakes , I hope you get it sorted.

Sodding potholes. Being local to me as you are, where do I need to avoid?

Ouch, hope you get it sorted. I think I might add some of those plastic rim protectors for any slow kerbs

Don't worry, buddy.

As my father told me after I dropped a rather nice watch (on the day that I bought it, after rather a long wait), "now it's yours".

These scars make your car unique, and you've claimed another trophy here on the Zoo with this story! It's the perfect antidote to those of us who might take washing and protecting our cars a little too seriously.

Now you've popped your damage cherry, you can relax and enjoy driving the damned thing! I wish you many happy miles ahead.

Sorry to hear that you have kerbed a wheel, I managed to do one on a car on day 2 of ownership so know how you feel ☹️ As a consolation you do have the option of an entry on The Timeline and a bit of history if you want it “First Kerbed Alloy“ 🤔

I believe it happened on the Foss going pass Leamington on the way towards Gaydon, noticed some bad ones there.

This is a good way at looking at it, certainly mine now!

It would be honour to have that title :ROFLMAO:

Happy Xmas , the honour is yours 👍🏆🥇😎

Did both of my nearside wheels on friday too, no idea where or when, annoyingly it stands out as the wheels are black, will give them a smooth and a touch up then maybe go for rim protectors but i’ve heard some horror stories about those, other option is 17” steelies which is the route i went when i destroyed 2 18” forged wheels on my old jag 🤣

Rather than get into a “who did theirs first” debate I‘ve awarded you “First to kerb two alloys” and a place in history 👍🏆🥇,

Plus, as a self confessed ” Serial Kerber“ you get to temporarily hold the Zoo Company “Kerb of the month award” 👏👏👏🏆 If any alloy wheel protector company wishes to sponsor the award please get in touch 👍

Rather the aftermarket rim protectors, I think you can buy tyres which have rim protection built in:
Maximum Flange Shield (MFS). A rim flange protection system. MFS employs a profile of rubber that runs around the circumference of the tyre above the wheel flange. This creates a protective buffer zone.* Benefits Protects expensive alloy wheels from kerbing.* Only available in select sizes.

Don't worry about kerbing the wheels, they're black so it's barely noticeable (to everyone but yourself).

Come tyre change, go for slightly oversized tyres and refurbish the alloys in a nicer colour. Problem solved.

Yeah, I could have done with a maximum flange shield this afternoon.

Just need one more person to kerb theirs and it’s a full set of 4, then we can make an offer to forum members who have upgraded to aftermarket wheels 🤣
