Toyota engineers will be crying…

The boot floor was just amplifying the bass of my new exhaust in the cabin just a bit too much. Two sheets of Dynamat Extreme later and it’s definitely taken the edge off.

I’ve got about 1,000 miles of motorway driving to do over the next two weeks, so it will be welcome. Can’t see myself doing the full seats and trim out job and adding more, looking for comfort, but this lets me enjoy the exhaust note more.

Took it to service, went great. changed the gearbox oil, differantials oil, oil and filter, brakepads, ... mechanic was very enthousiast, All be it a bit too enthousiast and clipped the curb when leaving the workshop 👏
Anyway, new wheel and tire is ordered.

On the bright side at least you can repair it and have a full size spare! 😅

Got 40mpg doing a run of about 20 miles at moderate speeds. It shocks me every time as I don't expect much more than 30 from this thing.

I remember getting something like 37mpg in my 2.0T RS Megane... not that it ever is above 25mpg these days.

I reckon it must be possible to get 45+ out of it if you're really coasting it round corners, that's the good thing about a performance car in those situations, you don't necessarily need to brake

Put in over £85 of petrol @ Tesco.

Maybe expect that at a motorway service station, but not at Tesco.

I felt like I got a bargain at the weekend when I filled up at Tesco as it was 10 p a litre cheaper than V-Power near me. Then I realised it was only relative as I was still paying an insane £1.95 per litre when last year, at already high prices, it was 30p a litre cheaper which is about £15 a tank. It’s crazy.

government needs to pay for the hotels for dingy divers somehow...

Had the rear pipe under the diff wrapped today to reduce the heat into the rear clutch pack. Hopefully this will help prevent transition to front wheel drive mid corner!
If u r anywhere near kent I can recommend the performance shop.

How often have you had this problem?

I have not yet but others have and this seems to be a simple remedy. Does not take long to do nor cost a lot.

Washed it.

I've been waiting for a downpour to soften the dust that had accumulated over the last few weeks and finally the rain arrived.

Now to wash our other two cars with a little less attention to detail.

You're slacking there. You can do better MPG.

Got Powerflex Black insert for trans torque mount and Toyota camber bolts installed (90105-17015) in upper knuckle hole. Today car got aligned and final camber specs were -2.42° and -2.50° so pretty much where I wanted them to be for now. I quite like the insert - the clunk during quick gear changes is vastly reduced and to me there is no NVH increase.

Broke the 1000 km barrier. And as I was on the autobahn anyway, oil nice and warm - quick check to see what it's like near the 230 kph limiter. Didn't quite get to the cut off due to traffic. But feels very planted at 200+. Didn't expect it to be that good.
