If its every Monday is it still "spur of the moment?"But who doesn’t enjoy some spur of the moment nut polishing action on a Monday?

If you would like to maintain your sanity levels, yes. Or at least, just unbolt it enough to give yourself a bit more room.Keep us posted with the install. I have the STI mount to fit but I'm under the impression it's a bit of a pig to fit. Think the front pipe might have to come off?
Started the car today (or rather #1 daughter did) for the first time since 28th November. Held the clutch and throttle down when pressing the starter to get some fluids flowing (TBH I was expecting to see the oil pressure light go out whilst doing this) and then let it run for 15 mins or so with a run up and down the drive. Discs still ginger! Won't start it again now, until I can drive it againMy brake discs have turned ginger. Getting sick of looking at it from my 'sick' chair in the living room . . .
(Cast off now, two impressive scars and a walking 'boot' and lots of pain. Further physio on 3rd Jan. Progress x-ray on 16th Jan)
Fooks me that's some length of driveway, how big's the front lawn ffs?!..let it run for 15 mins or so with a run up and down the drive...
You are actually better off not starting it at all unless you actually drive it. The most wear happens on start up so doing that too much can have a big effect on the engine.Started the car today (or rather #1 daughter did) for the first time since 28th November. Trickle charger was on for 24 hours over the Christmas break, which seems to have kept the electrics in order.
Second service in February and I'm taking it to the dealers this time![]()
No - daughter drove it - still not behind the wheel yet.Did you drive it? Bet it felt great to be back in it if you did

Mine sits there for 4 months without being started. As long as the battery is on a conditioner then all is good.
Eh, I wouldn't be so sure. I was hoping for the same, and I know my car has started up fine after a week of sat doing nothing before. This reminds me about the only benefit of not having an alarm on this car - the battery doesn't run down after a month's standing.

But I went to start it up the other morning after only a couple of days of inactivity, and it was definitely a bit lethargic to start. Granted it was very cold, but it doesn't inspire confidence. I'm sure I've read a couple of posts about batteries dying already. I'll definitely be putting some money aside in anticipation of needing a new one.
People who don't like driving (ID4 owners) seem to think that an overtake is a personal attack on them.I started mine at 7.30am on Friday at -5C after 3 months off the road - no signs of sluggish starting whatsoever.
Drive to the dealer for the service was certainly interesting!
Drove back three hours later and it was thankfully 2C and sunny.
Was behind a VW ID4 for four or five miles at 35 to 42 mph on the country roads on the way home - not an issue, I understand some folks drive that way. The road was dry but best to be patient.
Got to the only safe overtake and calmly overtook. ID4 instantly reached 65 as I started to pass - so I had to be energetic to get back in without issue.
Cruising at 60mph, I then had the VW up my chuff for the whole journey home.
Do people just fall asleep or is it a “don’t pass me” ego thing?
On a more serious note, those marks actually show how good the aero vents for the front wheels are.Thought you had snow chains on the front for a moment.
I'm guessing the air pushed through the vents hits the spokes as it rotates and pushes any salt etc. onto the tyre? My tyres looked like I'd painted lines on them last week hahaOn a more serious note, those marks actually show how good the aero vents for the front wheels are.
Yeah, for brake cooling.I'm guessing the air pushed through the vents hits the spokes as it rotates and pushes any salt etc. onto the tyre? My tyres looked like I'd painted lines on them last week haha
