Got up before the sun and the non GR Sunday drivers and headed north into the Cairngorms. Beautiful morning although cool and with salt on the roads which the sheep seemed to like eating () but really enjoyed the run. The car really is in its element on great A & B roads. View attachment 32099
Car is in desparate need of a wash, on the cards for this weekend.
For me it was the B743 today, but same sentiment. Car is filthy now.Drove the B4520 today and realised just how great this car is for welsh b roads
How are you finding the Cross Climates on there ?
Honest answer, not ideal today, but then it was 12-13degrees and dry. I was kinda missing the PS4’s when pushing on. The limit is definitely found lower/sooner in these conditions. How are you finding the Cross Climates on there ?
Interesting comments, as I fitted the CC2s at the same time I had the geometry done last year. Okay, it was around 5deg then but I found the car handled so much better. Due to the wet summer we had, I didn't put the PS4s back on this year, and drove across Europe on them in September. I'll see what difference there is come next spring. However, I wonder if the geometry tweaks made the real difference.Honest answer, not ideal today, but then it was 12-13degrees and dry. I was kinda missing the PS4’s when pushing on. No doubt in a few weeks I’ll be very grateful for them.
Can’t see me running the 4-seasons for er, 4 seasons, though.
I'll be fitting the winter set within the next couple of weeks, so will be interesting. Although they'll be on 17" rather than 18" but I doubt that will make a difference.Honest answer, not ideal today, but then it was 12-13degrees and dry. I was kinda missing the PS4’s when pushing on. @RumbleandSway Thanks for the Summary and Analysis... ICE ICE Baby (all the way every day)Running errands today found myself mulling over the budget and its implications for me and other motorists:
- Fuel duty frozen… politicians are such chicken sh*t c**k gobblers - if you needed evidence MP’s are just green washing virtue signalling deviants [who don’t give a sh*t about anything other than votes] this is it.
- Increased differential for Vehicle Excise Duty on ICE vehicles from April 2025 - awww… wont be ordering the Urus, 992.2 and Defender 130
- New ICE vehicle purchases over £40k now the preserve of the stupid.
- Benefit in kind for EV’s maintained till 2028 - 76g/km+ doubles from 2026 - big whoop. 2 x FA is still FA
Depreciation won’t be a factor for ICE car owners for the foreseeable future - I reckon anything ICE will be depreciation proof for the next 4 years while we all keep our cars till they fall apart.
Two thoughts:
1. Great time to buy shares in Lanoguard.
2. GR86 a total keeper
If I had a garage with enough space inside, I’d do exactly the same …Might get hammered for this but hey ho.
1st Service done.
CTEK attached.
Tyres pumped up.
Handbrake off.
Desiccants inside.
Roll on March.
I’m very lucky to have this car as my toy and have winter storage too. Not everyone does. You guys would probably have a fit if you saw mine. It will live outside and be used all winter. I washed it on Monday and will do my best to at least give it a regular snow foam/pressure wash, but it's already developing that lovely brown shadow along the lower portion...
