Not sure if I missed this late last year but it looks like the GR servicing costs have gone up again.

Now £365 for intermediate and £545(!) for a full service.

I don’t remember the full one being half a grand before, this seems like a ridiculous price.

Yeah I’m pretty sure that’s what it was when I booked mine at the start of December to be carried out at the start of January.

Feel like I’ve been shafted as my annual service is due right at the start of Jan, so will always hit the price increase.

An increase of £75 is ridiculous.

I’ve just checked the Toyota website and it confirms those prices, what an absolute rip off! I’ll stick with my independent garage for now, less than half those prices. I’m doing less than 3k miles a year in mine which makes the cost even harder to stomach.

This is likely the last service I’ll be doing on this car as it’ll be getting moved on this year. The servicing costs are just another nail in the coffin for me.

What do they even do on the “full service”? Oil, filters and brake fluid? For half a grand?

The service prices were already extortionate. Especially when they were asking some people to pay extra to dispose of the oil...

No doubt they are doing it because those that want the full 10 year warranty will be forced to pay it. I'm still thinking that I might just continue with the independent servicing forever, and disregard the warranty after 3 years.

That’s my intention too.

Lotus servicing is even worse. 😂
Thankfully there is a well regarded independent (and certified) repairer in Edinburgh if I did choose to go that route - I certainly wouldn't use the Glasgow dealership for anything other than their toilet and coffee facilities :D

I paid
Prices went up 1st of Jan I would imagine.
I paid £470 in December at RRG Bradford.
To add insult to injury, when I got back home in the courtesy Yaris there was a letter waiting for me from Vantage Leeds offering to service it for £149 as a welcome back offer! (it did specify it was a basic service, but still....)

It is a lot for what they do. But if you want to save money buy an old car you can service yourself, or has cheaper servicing.

Service plan for £36 a month including the AA cover for years 2 and 3 was the way to go.

It was on my radar at least. 🤔
Since then though, my YouTube viewing is quickly filling up with videos showing problems with the Emira; which if outside of warranty would cost a fortune to fix! I mean paint osmosis ffs?! In this day and age? And who doesn’t put in a water egress channel under the windscreen to prevent electrical damage - yeah, you guessed it; Lotus.

My friend who has an early production Emira has turned me off considering one, a true blast to drive in but warranty fixes are slow and with mixed success of actually sorting the issues.

Getting the 20k service done start of next month once I book it, and not at all pleased at the increase in GR servicing. Might push me over the edge to going to Abbey or another JDM specialist
