If u are push over 460NM at wheel and use super wide tire for track , u are risky to brake 5th gear Syncro slider

Did 12 event at first year with super wide Re71rs
265-295 probably 100 lap no issue

After switch to Motec
My stock transmission only last 8 lap
With 480NM of TQ at wheel
Spare transmission last 2 lap with 520nm at wheel
All with 275/35/18 Re71RS and ATS Carbon clutch

Install GRMN close gear set and retune to 460NM
This set up last 3-5 event is more then 30laps

Today
With 295/35/18 A050
The GRMN close gear set only last 2 lap , it was doing perfect normal from last week testing with 275/35/re71rs

U can check complete story of it from day 1

460 nm isnt thaaaaaat much. do you think its the torque or the tires? or just that you move it on track?
what can we learn for fast road use ?

I was pushing 520NM , engine hold up very well
Just btake exact like the video dose , no sign
Only time u find up is u can’t shift to 5th or jam at 5th

I think for fast road user , I won’t concern it
I run with DTUK with 295 for a year no issue
This problems will only appear when u Motec or Syvecs and aftermarket LSD with super wide tire

Is clearly the design issue from Toyota
I think that is a little unfair, If you operate a component outside of its design criteria then its not really a design issue.

If you are pushing boundaries it is inevitable you will reach a failure mode at some point, you can engineer a solution to fix it but then it will just move to the next weakest link.

In normal design
U should not have failure at 5th ?
Like I said at Gr Yaris Uk forum
With stock transmission gear ratio
I don’t even need to shift to 5th
But still fail twice , that mean it must some unwant stress there at Syncro hub even u are not using it
To me this is issue
If I am push 500nm and brake the transmission in gear I am using it , that is different story

Thank you for testing the limits and keeping us up to date.
For one ultimate perfect lap
you should as a sponsorship from MrMorizo as you are constantly testing their product, and 'pushing the limit for the better'.
Thanks for brining the weaknesses out, it benefits the whole community!
I hope they can see this , they will have bigger issue
When Gr Corolla start making power at usa
They love to suit people
Rules don't allow sequential? They go much higher torque....
Well sequential is really like no way Return

yes agree - that transmission and actually the complete driveline will be a challenge for GRC as car is heavier and likely to use even bigger rubber than GR.
Fun to see how it evolves.

Try to predict what I need to order
Before shop open box
Beside my GR garage close gear set
Is pretty difficult to locate the
OEM part
But after some google search around
I found out a lot of transmission part number is same like old model , Mabe this is why Gr Yaris have transmission issue , Toyota did not design brand new box foR Gr Yaris

So interesting, I admire your patience with the car …… I would have already given up and bought something else to be honest. 🤣.
Great info , thanks
