Spotted this link on another forum. what do you think?

I'll believe it when I see it, and I'm not so sure about the "Finally, the Toyota 86 we've all been waiting for" title. On the one hand I'll be happy to see continuation. On the other, do I really want a bigger, hybrid sports car with loads of mandatory nanny-state safety systems that'll probably be significantly more expensive? Not really, but I'd happily be proven wrong. I quite like the way it looks though.

"Toyota could be preparing a radical new version of its GR86 sports car."

I suspect the word "could" is doing a lot of heavy lifting there...

As for the render, here's an exclusive* transcript of the Best Car staff discussion direct from their office:

BC staff 1: I've nearly finished this new GR86 digital render but I can't decide on the front.

BC staff 2: Why, what's the problem?

BC staff 1: I've got three options for the front end that all look completely different and I can't choose between them.

BC staff 3 (boss): F**k it, use all of them.

*Made up. It's a quiet afternoon.

I've bought my last new car which is the GR86. Have no intention of replacing it as there's nothing coming I'll want. The Swift will eventually get replaced by a used BMW estate of some kind. With bikes I'm never selling my Triple but have been looking at something like a cheap VFR800 for commuting on to run along side.

Good to keep the sports car line up going, in any case it shouldn't affect current GR86 which is one of the last naturally aspirated engines around. Turbo lag does matter.
