Hi all,

I just thought I would share that I've found a high booster seat I'm quite pleased with:
- attaches to Isofix anchors
- expands easily all the way up
- fastening the seatbelt is easy

So if any other parent is looking for one, the Maxi-Cosi Kore Pro works well, picture as a reference!

Good to know looks like a good fit, however are you ready for your car to be covered in mud, snacks, scratches and possibly excrement?

Cause I'm not so sticking with my trusty Audi A4 B8 3.0TDi Avant.

That poor car has had all the above on it and doesn't bother me even a little!

Wish I knew that before I bought one
I got two but only the one kid and ended up using the old one in the 86 and the other is in the oh car, the one that fits better doesn't have isofix 😔

Interesting contrasting choice of engines.. I just couldn't get myself to like the Diesel engines even on slow family cars.

Fitted a Kindercraft group 1 seat in the back today for my 2 year old.

Isofix, top tether, fits well and no movement at all. Driver's seat in my normal position ... It's definitely a "shoes off before you get in" scenario but they seemed ok back there.

Joie Elevate fits well for the larger kid as well... Not much chance of anyone sitting in the front though. 3 out of 4 of us in the car isn't too bad!

Really useful thanks! Not ready to put my daughter in yet want to keep it nice for a while longer 😅

That Kore Pro seems to both have a very thin back side and fit in the buckets nicely. Tempting to buy, my current one fits in the buckets nicely but the front of the seat sticks out a little over the seat of the car.

Crucial 8-10cm of extra room, especially for smaller kids whose legs need more room because their legs are too short to bend down. Before I had kids I expected bigger kids to have issues but it seems the other way around... Anyone with a 2y/o and a 6y/o for example who can confirm this assumption?

Now that I'm on the subject.. I currently haul 1 kid in the back and 1 in the front passenger seat (6 month old) in a maxicosi carrier. Once she moves to a child seat I'll have to put both kids in the back, so 1 behind me.
Anyone 6ft2 (188cm) able to fit a child seat behind?

Yes. My 2 year old hardly fits behind the drivers seat. Can't stretch her legs out fully.

Once my youngest is old enough for a car seat and will be sitting behind me and my wife finds out I expect a serious "I told you so" conversation

I'll be test driving an M240i soon as a backup plan (the only car I would consider to replace the GR86) but it's over budget anyway. Back seats should be considerably more usable though for a 2-door.

The Kore Pro gets terrible reviews for the seat cover coming off. How’s the OP got on with it?

I’ve got a Joie Elevate that we use when hiring cars on holiday. I’m looking to see if theres a better option. The back on it is very upright.

Thanks

The Joie Traver has extendable seat depth, thin back and bucket shape, might be worth giving a try as well.

Joie Elevate fits well. I taught the 3 year old he has 4 options for his legs when there’s a front seat passenger
- on top of the centre tunnel
- either side of the front seat (he seems happiest with this one)
- up on top of the headrest 😂
- crossed like he’s meditating

Rule is shoes off in all cars anyway.

He was happy on a 30 minute journey and keeps asking to go back in it. This avoided some grief from the wife. 🤭

Mine crossed his legs when someone in front.
Is there any lightweight seat (to replace the passenger) that:
1.- Is slimmer than OEM to provide more space to back seat passengers and
2.- that still reclines forward ?

Seats like the Bride Low Max are slimmer but can't recline forwards, only backwards

I bought a Cybex Solution T for another car. Will report back once I’ve tried it in the GR. Seems a bit wide. He definitely has more legroom in the other car though.
