At Vantage Toyota we take the health and continued performance of your vehicle very seriously.
We recently carried out a vehicle health check on your vehicle which identified the below concerns, that may have a possible adverse effect on your car.
Fuel Treatment
Please call Vantage Toyota and we'll be happy to talk you through the concerns and works required and arrange a convenient appointment for us to re-check your vehicle or book online. We'll carry out another vehicle health check for you free of charge, and re-check those items previously reported. We'll also carry out a complimentary wash and vacuum for you whilst the car is with us.
You obviously didn't take them up on their money-making extra at your last service. Fuel additives are not recommended by Toyota for the GR86 and may actually invalidate your Warranty. This has been stated elsewhere within this forum, along with an extract from the manual. Just contact them and say you don't need it.
Edit: Here's a link to the previous post ... LINKY
For info, it's stated on page 164 of the GR86's E-Manual. Pretty clear really. They should know this, but have probably been told to up-sell as much stuff as they can to everybody that comes in (as @ZN8 said above whilst I was typing ).
(and they can f** off with their complimentary gritty sponge wash and scratchy vacuum too)
For shits and giggles, I'd reply to them with the extract from the owners manual and ask if taking them up on their 'offer' will invalidate the vehicle warranty. I'd love to know how plugging the car into the OBD reader gives such a comprehensive report . . .
Interesting given most fuels now will have a detergent of sorts. I’d imagine octane boosters which the frequent track day attendees might be inclined to add will be ok so long as they do not mention any secondary properties on the labelling.
