With price on OEM Front discs being really brutal, we had to get creative ;)

Ok guys. As i promised to take measurements for EBC rotors. Even though it is nice - 8C outside i did it so the saga around rotors ends.
It is true inside of the EBC rotor sits same as OEM one, outside of the EBC rotor is 3mm closer to inside than OEM one. CENTER of the EBC rotor sits 1.5mm off center compared to OEM one. I am 100% sure that 3mm additional extension on outer caliper piston will not cause problems when pads gets worn, now when i looked i am even less concerned about piston over extension... Looks like it has far more travel than additional 3mm when fully worn down.

So conclusion: rotors sit off-center due to being 3mm thinner, this could be easily solved by puting a custom 1.5mm spacer betwen hub and rotor, i might do that in the future :) Other than that i cannot tell the diffrence from stock.

Verdict after 5000km:

Ladies and gentlemans, i just did 40+ km of spirited driving even though it is almost freezing outside and with winter tires, one section of a downhill ride i really on purpose got brakes really hot, i mean they smoked a little, and now are colored

i wanted to know how OEM pads works with EBC discs on the limit. Even when really hot this brakes perform good. I am so happy. Spirited driving i cant tell a difftence betwen oem and ebc rotors, i think oem takes longer to heatsoak due to mass, but ebc perform beyond well. Before i used oem rotors with normal brembo pads and they are useless beyond 450c... So pads are really important. Go yellowstuff or oem if you drive hard. I might do the 1.5mm spacer betwen rotor and hub to center the disc inside caliper, if there will be uneven wear. So far all is ok

Although you have found a way to make these USR1545 rotors work for your GRMN, EBC neither condones or recommends fitting the incorrect thickness disc from other models of the Yaris to the GRMN.

GRMN has a 25mm Thickness disc with 23mm minimum thickness

Other Yaris models are 22mm with 20mm minimum thickness

So there is less mass to handle the heat and in extreme cases could cause the braking system to be past its design specifications

It would fail an MOT if the tester picked it up and would certainly fail an insurance claim if the crash was serious enough.

EBC are working on supplying discs for the GRMN which will be coming soon. Since this issue was raised we have updated the website (link below) to show the rear rotors and pads that we currently supply.

I will keep you informed as and when new parts become available (front discs specifically) on this forum.

I am aware that this is not direct replacement, i linked pictures of that in first post. they work fine, tested on racetrack, tested with alot of spirited driving, not a MOT problem here in Slovenia... The real issue is price of OEM rotors pair of 2 front rotors is insane 2500euro, at 1250euro for a single iron 275x25mm rotor is something me and many others are not willing to pay, with that prices i rather go BBK upgrade. Well EBC should start making them 🀣

Hi all,

In case you're interested I found front Toyota Celica ZZT231 275mm better match the sizes and you can just add the option to have them drilled to suit 4x100 (Celica is 5x100)
