Due to lots of interest and the March event fully booked, Mark from Drive Limits has agreed to run another day for the forum on Monday 5th June 2023. Those on the previous waiting list have already booked, with only a few places remaining.

No guarantees that we will be given another date this year, so if you are looking to improve your driving techniques and own a GR then get your name down and have some fun in a safe environment.

The password to purchase and book is Chris-gr4 (case sensitive).

Once booked if you have any queries regarding the booking then please contact Drive Limits directly. Mark spends most of his days either in cars or at events, so don't expect a reply in 10 minutes, but he will get back to you.

To participate you'll need to be in a GR that's safe and roadworthy, no passengers allowed unless you buy 2 tickets and share a car, no helmet required. You'll need to pump up your tyres a bit on arrival, toilets are on site and their is somewhere for refreshments and food. You can take video but coaching techniques are private and shouldn't be shared on YouTube.

The day consists of various exercises including how to improve braking, car control in emergency situations and some timed laps to put your skills into practice. Some on the day coaching is also included if you are happy to listen and learn.

If you book, then please mention it on this thread so we have an idea who is going. (y)

Very cool, I'll wait till we find a more northern event! But would be super interested, just a bit far to travel sadly.

Cheers

Unlikely to happen at a different venue, due to higher costs and Drive Limits who have been very good to us are based in Essex.

I would love to find something closer to Midlands too. Drive Limits seems to consistently get great feedback but for me, it's too much of a chuff from North Notts 😕

We’re driving down from Derbyshire on the morning of the session.

If your on the fence about doing this, which I was the first time, it's a great opportunity to learn some new driving skills and how your car handles on the limit and beyond.

Good instruction from Mark throughout and also a good way to put some faces to names on here.

Would be nice to get a good mix of GR's too. Was kinda hoping to see a GR86 on the last one, haven't seen one in the flesh yet.

Also just to add for the next one, if you're in a GR Yaris, Mark mentioned that there is no need to inflate the tyres to the max. Standard pressures are fine, due to the stiff side wall on the MP4S plus the fact that it's a relatively light car.

I was actually getting a bit of understeer this time at around 2.5 bar (went for slightly higher pressures) and quite worn fronts. Could be an alignment issue too though, I did hit a couple of massive pot holes on the drive down.

I drove up from bristol the night before and stayed in a cheapo premier inn on the outskirts of harlow. Was then a 15 min drive to the arifield.

@Nanth here you go, one place left, it’s yours!

As others have said, you really can’t recommend this enough, the tuition is brilliant and I learned some things that I’d never even come across before (such as steering with one finger on top of the wheel and allowing the front wheels to do want they want - genius).

Oops sorry. Couldn’t see a location and your English is very good so I presumed UK.

Trackday tuition is good, but you don’t really get the opportunity to deliberately get the car out of shape. On an airfield you get plenty of room with nothing to hit too!
