Share your feedback on a thread here, quite a few of our users aren’t on Facebook, and it’s easier to search for things here.

for optimal use of CANchecked, it is necessary to use their DSS software :

this allows you to change the screens, displays, settings... from your computer, which is easier than doing it directly from the box

you can change boot video easily with new pictures (bmp) and 20 to 26 pictures, 320x240 pixel

When you have create pictures, rename "logo00" to "logo25" (max) ("logo19" mini) and paste on SD card manualy (file "pic") or upload one by one with DSS software.
After upload new pictures, it is necessary to flash inernal memory of CANchecked and reboot product (first reboot after flash is slow)

and reboot product (first reboot after flash is slow)

example of start boot :

you can upgrade your product with a shiftlight :

and configure it from DSS software.

So how do I add my graphics using the windows app? I can’t find any instructions that make sense.

I see you can copy things to the Sd card and then flash the unit? I’m a bit lost with what I need to do.

you must be instal DSS software (link in this page).
After, you can connect your CANchacked to your computer with usb cable.
And upload files one by one (upload page)

OR

insert microSD card in your computer, and past pictures in "pics" file.
control the name of your pictures if it's to remplace oem pictures.

AFTER (DSS or direct SDCard)

Flashing your CANchecked (show video in this page) eand reboot module ;)

enjoy !

I bought myself one of these modules, it's a nice product. I had a small problem with the supplied harness. After sales department is looking into what they can do. The company that sold me the module is in any case very responsive

I have some questions

- EGT doesn't display any data, is this the case for everyone?

- No dimmer when lights are on? Any way to activate/trigger that funcion? Light intensity is too strong at night

There is a lot of learning to be done from the DSS. I.e I'm trying to vary the angle and colour of the graphics according to the desired value, as the default settings are not always very relevant. It takes time, I haven't achieved the desired result yet

I talked to the Canchecked Support about the dimming feature. They told me that you need two swipes to adjust the brightness in different levels. Not ideal but at least it is possible without to much work.

I also suggested to them that maybe it would be a good idea to monitor the headlights trough the CAN bus and automatically adjust the display brightness accordingly. If we are lucky this might be implemented in a future software update.

Just got some additional feedback. Unfortunately the OBD port does not provide any information about the headlights so they are not able to include the auto brightness feature into their firmware.
