Hello Zoo, I own a used ‘22 GR Yaris since summer 2024 and drive it every day. Yes, it has become my real Dailydriver and I have a lot of fun with the small car “Baby Godzilla”. The previous owner has already invested a lot, such as Recaro Pole Position seats, a short shifter, alcantara steering wheel, a lowering with JR rims in 8.5 X 18, the conversion to a two-seater with club sport carpet and net plus a roof spoiler ... Downpipe and Exhaust. “Rötheli” would be just around the corner. I'm torn as to whether the little cube needs a little (much) more tuning or not. Let's see.

Almost 25 years ago I owned a Subaru Impreza. The GR Yaris now reminds me of that again. I live in Switzerland on Lake Constance with a view of the Alps, Grimsel Pass, Furka Pass, Susten Pass, Nufenen Pass and Gotthard Pass are nearby where I can often be found driving over mountain passes or in the Black Forest. I like all kinds of fast cars, preferably manual, possibly even mid-engined but always low and free of body roll and digital intervention. It can also stink and roar a bit.

There was snow this Christmas week. It was so nice to drive through the neighborhood early in the morning with the flashing Christmas tree on the roof.

Welcome! I stayed on Lake Constance this summer on a Euro Roadtrip. Lovely part of the world with great roads. From there down to the Gotthard / Furka passes before dipping into Italy, then back a few days later up the Maloja pass to St. Moritz. Driving heaven.

Once again gliding over a snow-covered, lonely Alpine pass in winter just for fun. What could be better? A sophisticated 4WD, good winter tires, heated seats and steering wheel, a cup (mug) of hot espresso in the cupholder ... that's it.

In my case it was the “Lukamnier” Lukmanier Pass 1917m is an Alpine pass without the usual well-known winter closures. It was so beautiful, despite the strong wind at the top of the pass and minus seventeen degrees Celsius.

In summer, the volume of traffic in the region is very low. Now in January with snow, I encountered less than five cars and there were also less than a handful of slow-movers to overtake.

Damn I envy you. That looks like the perfect environment to fully enjoy the Yaris and what it has to offer.

Yes. ca 2330 kg. The Land Cruiser, a J25, is contrary to many opinions not a 300 but actually a smaller 250 platform although almost 5 meters long. A club lounge on wheels for up to seven people. Permanent 4WD and all the other driving aids that go with it. Where the tarmac roads end is where the LC's terrain begins. It's unbelievable what Toyota has built into the LC, even in terms of comfort features - you definitely don't want or wish for a “Range R.”. Everything is on board, including a refrigerated drinks compartment, all kinds of digital helpers including Andorid-Auto. I explored from Switzerland the cost of the german North Sea in just under 4.5 days of road tripping on all types of paved and unpaved roads. There is a driving program for every surface. It's amazing how the car encourages you to drive long distances...

We started early. Very early. We passed Zurich shortly before six, left Grenoble behind us shortly after ten and from there took the legendary N85 Route Napoleon to the Mediterranean. There are around 330 km of country road between Grenoble and Cannes and, unlike the Route des Grandes Alpes, all the passes here are open all year round and mostly snow-free because they are at a much lower altitude. Virtually traffic-free too :-)

Then also here foto fun @ the beach ...
