Alpine A110 Discussion and deals

Think I’ll be going for an Alpine A110 GT 0% over 3 years at the moment.
That and the mx5 are the only ones I’ve spotted that I’d possibly go for. Can’t do anything till October tho so both will most likely have finished by then
Will try them both next time I’m off work for reference

Alpine is upto end of March.

Found this last week,if it's of interest. Only on the standard model, but a cheap rental for this type and value of car.

Hmm, that's a pretty good deal, where are you seeing that? The website seems to show 2.9% over three years

The Alpine is a lovely car but I don't like the light placement at the front, can you get bodycolour matched covers for the fog lights? 😅😆 😁

Seems like a good deal, but I'd say to anyone before getting tempted with the idea of one, give one a test drive. I did, expecting it to blow me away after all the reviews, but I didn't gel with it in the hour I managed to get a drive for. I think I missed the interaction of a manual too much. Maybe you need to have one for a while to appreciate it (Harry only seems to review cars he's been given for a few weeks). It's a shame real potential customers are lucky to get an unaccompanied drive, compared to journalists and "influencers" that seem to just be given the keys, but that's the same for all new cars.
I was looking at a daily driver, and for me it was just too impractical, but if it's a weekend toy then that's very different.
Also, it's double the price of a GR86, to me it's not twice the car. Finance deals though are very tempting, which I guess means they must be eager to move as many as they can.

Nick, I agree with your view.

I was tempted to get one, hoping that A110 second hand values would drop enough for it to be a reality, but sadly they didn't, then the GR86 opportunity came along. The Alpine's rarity is attractive but I see no great difference in the two other than the gearbox and the rear 'seats' and of course the cost difference, but then I haven't had a test drive so there is no doubt more to it than that.

I imagine servicing costs would be high given the engines location, and insurance as well.

I do like the Alpine, but they are materially more expensive than the Yaris. Tempting, but for me at least I think unrealistic.

Also wildcard... I reckon at TAS 2025 Toyota will announce the new MR2, probably offering a version of it with the G16E-GTS
